Eyecare acquisition acted on by HCR Law wins National/International Deal of the Year

An acquisition acted on by HCR Law has won the National/International Deal of the Year award at this year’s Insider South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards.

The international deal saw the sale of Kent-based National Eyecare Group to America-based CECOP. The acquisition continued the success of National Eyecare Group, which was founded in 1979, while giving CECOP a strong foothold in the UK.

HCR Law’s Head of Corporate, Cheltenham, Tim Ward, who led on the legal aspects of the deal, said: “The international elements of this deal made it a particularly interesting one.

“Well done to the team – this award reflects the strong position HCR Law continue to have in the corporate arena, both nationally and internationally.”

The award comes soon after firm’s first-place ranking across the UK for merger and acquisition deals in Experian MarketIQ’s M&A review of 2024.

The black-tie event, compered by television presenter Alex Zane, took place on Thursday 6 June at Sheffield City Hall. The ceremony celebrated the very best in the region’s banking, funding, legal and accountancy communities.
