HCR appointed as Approved Partner for the Institute of School Business Leadership

29 September 2023

We’re delighted to announce that we have been confirmed as an ‘Approved Partner’ for the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL).

ISBL is nationally recognised by education stakeholders for setting sector-endorsed standards and professional development opportunities to school business professionals. With thousands of members across the UK, ISBL and their Approved Partners support school and trust leaders in responding to the complex challenges facing the education system.

Being named as an Approved Partner demonstrates technical expertise and presence in the education sector, and HCR are one of only four law firms nationwide to have been appointed. The Approved Partner programme is designed by ISBL to help schools resolve important procurement decisions. In addition to the curated list of approved suppliers the programme also provides a pipeline for Approved Partners to supply thought leadership pieces, training and guides to schools on a myriad of issues.

Kristine Scott, Head of the Education team, said “We are delighted to have been confirmed as an Approved Partner for ISBL. Their dedication to providing schools with only the best advice required us to undergo a rigorous vetting process, demonstrating our strength and knowledge in the sector, and at the heart of it, our role as trusted advisor to schools.”

Emma Swann, Head of Academies, added “Being accepted as Approved Partners shows that HCR is committed to its support for schools and ISBL members. With over 50 years’ experience in the education sector we are able to deal with the complex and strategic challenges that educational institutions face. It is a challenging time for schools at the moment and through our partnership with ISBL we are perfectly placed to help advise schools through the range of issues they will encounter.”

Working collaboratively with governors, heads, bursars and senior leaders, the team provide expert legal advice on all issues schools, face, from safeguarding, complex employment matters, to building issues and commercial contracts.
