HCR supports the next generation with Hartpury partnership

28 February 2023

Award-winning law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys (HCR) has partnered with Hartpury University and Hartpury College to support the next generation of talent in the community from farming to sport. The partnership will benefit the Agri-Tech Centre, the agriculture rugby team, and the Gloucester-Hartpury women’s RFC team.

Kristine Scott, HCR Partner and Head of Cheltenham office, said: “We have a passion for people and the innovative, high-performing and supportive environment that Hartpury offers its students, giving them the best possible experience, perfectly aligns with our values. We have deep roots in the local community and are delighted to be able to get behind such a successful local educational programme. The proof is in the pudding – you only have to see where the women’s rugby team is in the league currently to understand the hard work and dedication that goes into the students to make them a success.

“Agri-tech is improving farming globally from food production to sustainability and efficiency – the level of talent in the region’s future farming community that Hartpury nurtures through education is fantastic.”

HCR provides a spectrum of city-quality legal services to business and private clients across the South and West Midlands, Thames Valley and Wye Valley corridors, the southwest of England and in Wales. It has more than 800 staff and partners providing specialist expertise in health and social care; defence, security, and the forces; finance and financial services; construction and engineering; education; technology, and agriculture and rural affairs.

James Forrester, Head of Sponsorship at Hartpury, said: “Agriculture and rugby are at the heart of Hartpury, so we’re thrilled to welcome HCR as a valued partner. This is an exciting collaboration and in line with our own wider vision to build on industry links and drive innovation. Partnerships like this are a great way to support our young people as they develop in their education, careers and sport.

“I look forward to welcoming HCR along for the ride, as we look to another huge year for all our teams at Hartpury.”
