The Wye Valley may be known as a beauty spot but it is packed with thriving businesses, the new head of Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ Wye Valley office, has said. Arpinder Dhillon, who has been the firm’s head of business services for Herefordshire for the last four years, has taken over as head of its office near Ross-on-Wye.
Arpinder, who has herself been noted as a leader in her field in national legal directories, has been working with local businesses for some time. Arpinder specialises in corporate law, helping businesses to merge with or buy other businesses, or negotiating deals for them to be sold or restructured.
She recently helped Ross-based HSL Compliance and three of its related businesses in a £20m management buyout led by its UK Managing Director Gavin Hartley – the companies are all part of Shield Group International (SGI), an international testing, inspection and consultancy business, previously part of the global inspection and certification group, Kiwa.
Gavin said: “We are fortunate to have a nationally recognised law firm and talented lawyers, in the form of Arpinder and her team, on our doorstep. It is important for any business to deal with lawyers who know what they are doing, are responsive and who are fully supportive of their clients during what can be a stressful time. We wish Arpinder every success in her new role”.
Arpinder said: “I’m delighted to be taking on this role – I know the area well and I have seen at first-hand how businesses thrive in this marketplace; they may be set in beautiful countryside but they are not stuck in a rut, and they are ready to look at national and international markets for growth and development.
“As part of my role, I look forward to getting to know the wider community– our office is growing steadily and we have a great track record of welcoming people back to the area who have acquired and developed their expertise elsewhere, but want to create their futures and further develop their careers and ambitions where they began.”
