Employment tribunals can be protracted, emotional and expensive. When a senior manager within the care sector claimed for unfair dismissal following health and safety whistleblowing, she contacted Employment and Immigration Legal Director Guy Hollebon. Guy’s knowledge of the employment landscape, and, in particular, employment tribunals, meant he was able to negotiate a successful settlement shortly before the hearing. This meant his client avoided the need to attend the tribunal and was able to draw a line under the case and move on. Following this, Guy’s client said: “It is a huge relief for me to have this case concluded and you have been a tremendous help at every step along the way.  I have great admiration and respect for your knowledge, professionalism, straight forward approach, patience and kindness.

We were extremely pleased with the training delivered by HCR Law on the distinction between workplace banter and discrimination, we also received training from them regarding how to conduct effective investigations. The sessions were engaging, practical, and highly relevant, and we received excellent feedback from all delegates who attended. The positive impact of the training led us to bring HCR Law back to deliver further sessions, and we will be booking additional training again this year. We would highly recommend them.

Frequently Asked Quesions

HCR Law’s redundancy solicitors advise employers through every stage of the redundancy process, from consultation and selection criteria to calculating payments and issuing notice correctly. Getting it wrong exposes a business to unfair dismissal and discrimination claims. Our team guides employers through redundancy in a way that’s fair, compliant and properly documented throughout.

A redundancy can become an unfair dismissal if the selection process is inconsistent, discriminatory, or if proper consultation wasn’t carried out before dismissal. Employers must apply fair, objective criteria and follow a genuine process throughout. HCR Law’s redundancy solicitors help employers structure redundancies correctly from the outset, reducing the risk of a successful claim.

Making someone redundant correctly means identifying a genuine business reason, consulting properly, applying fair selection criteria, considering suitable alternative roles, and calculating the right payment. Skipping any step increases the risk of a tribunal claim. HCR Law’s redundancy solicitors guide employers through the full process, ensuring each redundancy is handled fairly and correctly.
