LawExchange International
HCR Law is the England and Wales member of LawExchange International (LEI), a global network of independent law firms co-founded by one of our predecessor firms in 1994. The network spans five continents and 29 countries, with 34 member firms working together to support clients with international legal needs.

The LEI philosophy
LawExchange International was founded on a simple philosophy: that members must treat clients referred by another member firm with the same commitment to quality and service as they would their own clients.
The relationships between member firms are founded on trust and communication, enabling an agile response to clients needing advice in other jurisdictions. LEI members meet regularly at global and regional conferences, share local knowledge and best practice and build long-term professional relationships with regular secondments.
The result? A network of law firms that individuals and businesses alike can rely on to meet their legal needs worldwide.
Our core commitments
All LEI firms adhere to the same set of core commitments:
- Coverage
- Competence
- Client Service
- Cost Consciousness
- Cooperation
- Conduct

Annual conferences
LEI’s global conferences are hosted by a different member firm each time and are a calendar highlight for the network. HCR hosted the Global Conference in London in May 2025, with a packed agenda of informative talks, networking events and practice groups. In addition to the Global Conferences, there are Regional Conferences in the Americas, Europe and the Asia-Pacific to encourage further alignment on jurisdictional developments in those regions.
