At the beginning of April, we announced our biggest promotions round to date – more than 100 colleagues across our business services and private client teams.
We believe in developing our teams, which is why we are so delighted to celebrate talent and capability through helping each individual develop their own careers.
Six new Partners were named, including Gurinder Hayer (Commercial), Cris Manuel-Hughes (Dispute Resolution) and Lynne Adams (Employment and Immigration).
The Corporate team saw particular growth, with 14 promotions. Among them, Lara Bethell became the fifth Corporate Partner in the firm’s London office. This follows HCR Law being named the UK’s most active M&A dealmaker for another year, highlighting the team’s national strength.
In Family Law, Shereen Chohan and Lauren Nash move into Partner roles, alongside 11 further promotions across fee-earning and support positions. Private Client also sees strong progression with 20 promotions across the team.
The firm-wide promotions round also included 11 newly qualified lawyers – nine solicitors and two licensed conveyancers – who qualified between October 2025 and March 2026. They joined the Commercial, Corporate, Education, Employment, Family Law, Private Client, Real Estate and Residential Property teams across multiple offices.
Several promotions were made in the Leamington Spa office in the first promotion round since Wright Hassall joined HCR Law in November 2025. And this month we also celebrated moving into smart new offices in the town – just around the corner.
Rod Thomas, Managing Partner, said: “This record round of promotions marks a significant moment for HCR Law. It shows how investing in our people directly enhances the service we offer.”
Rachel Turner, Partner and Training Principal, said: “We’re delighted to welcome our newest group of homegrown solicitors and licensed conveyancers. Their achievement reflects years of effort and commitment, and we will continue to support them.”
However, with our colleagues now settled into their hard-earned promotions, external recruitment for new roles hasn’t stopped. In the last two months alone, we’ve welcomed more than 30 colleagues across our 13 offices, including in our new Shrewsbury office, which opened in January.
These includes three new Partners, three Legal Directors, Six Solicitors and 10 in legal support roles.
We take our “Passionate about People” commitment seriously and do as much as we can to attract and then support talent.
