HCR Hewitsons’ Cambridge corporate team grows following Partner appointment

HCR Hewitsons’ Cambridge office has welcomed Sarah Ilic, who joins the corporate team as a Partner, underscoring the firm’s commitment to supporting the region’s thriving business community.

Sarah is a well-regarded corporate law specialist, with over a decade of experience gained at other Cambridge law firms. She has advised businesses at critical points in their lifecycle, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, equity investments, and debt financings – with a particular focus on property development finance, venture debt, and insolvency-related matters. Her extensive experience has seen her recognised as a Leading Associate in the 2025 Legal 500, where she was noted as a “standout” lawyer.

Sarah advises clients across a broad range of industries, including technology, leisure and hospitality, retail, haulage, and property. Alongside her transactional practice, she supports businesses with shareholder relations and corporate governance matters. In the past 12 months, her work has included advising on the share sale of a group in the automotive sector to a private equity-backed serial acquirer, acting on the venture debt financing of a global payments company by a US-based fund, and supporting the debt financing of a London property portfolio owned by a high net worth, non-UK resident.
