Top 70, award winning, law firm, Harrison Clark Rickerbys has been successful in its bid to be appointed to the Police Federation of England and Wales legal panel for all civil and employment-related claims.
The Police Federation campaigns to represent the best interests of its members with regards to pay and conditions, pensions and a range of other issues. Harrison Clark Rickerbys will advise its members from any of the 43 federation branches, as part of the newly formed legal panel.
The tender process was led by Partners Chris Mayers, Head of Employment and Immigration in Wales and Bryn Thomas in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team. Commenting on the successful appointment, Chris said: “We are thrilled to be working with the Police Federation of England and Wales – of course the appointment is fantastic news for us as a firm, but we understand that its members’ best interests are at the heart of the decisions it makes. That is just as important to us – we fully support the ethos of the federation, and we will continue to do so when advising its members in a legal capacity.”
Bryn also commented on the appointment and said: “Swift, fair and just resolutions to the complex claims that federation members deal with is crucial – we are committed to ensuring they receive the best possible outcome. Across the dedicated team we have lawyers that have worked in-house with various police forces for over 10 years and I was Head of Civil Litigation and a member of the senior leadership team at West Midlands Police – so we are well-placed to be on the panel.”
Craig Hewitt, Head of Civil Claims at the Federation, said, “It was clear that Harrison Clark Rickerbys has the understanding, experience, and knowledge across the team to support us with both civil and employment-related claims concerning our members. We will benefit greatly from their expertise, and we are very pleased to have them on the panel.”
