Client Story

Historic Cotswolds pub sells thanks to Ben Thomas and team

10th March 2022

When the owner of a Grade II listed Cotswold pub decided to retire after 15 years, he turned to HCR’s real estate and corporate solicitors for help.

Ben Thomas, head of real estate in Cheltenham, along with others across the firm, acted to assist with the sale of the Shilton Rose and Crown in Gloucestershire. The property elements were taken on by Ben, while the business aspects were acted on by corporate partner Derek Callanan and solicitors Adam Thompson.

The deal required cross-team support from Rowena Kay from HCR’s employment and immigration team and Neil Styles from the firm’s licensing team. The range of expertise available led to a successful sale.

Following the deal, Ben said: “I’m pleased that we’ve been able to assist our client in the sale of this historic pub, allowing him to retire after many years as a publican.”

Ben and the team are looking forward to working on similar deals in the future.
