Christopher Nuttall recently advised a trustee client on the impact of corporate activity on the legal aspects of the covenant supporting the pension scheme. He worked alongside the employer’s advisers to help plan and implement the corporate activity in a way that ensured appropriate mitigation was in place to address the detriment caused to the scheme. He also ensured that the trustee met with its reporting obligations to the Pensions Regulator.

Christopher’s pragmatic approach helped to deliver outcomes which reflected a reasonable balance between the need to pay promised benefits and to minimise any adverse impact on the employer’s growth.
