HCR Law has advised the owners of SCI Specialist Infrastructure Ltd on the sale of the business to Hampshire-based E-Volve Construction Group.
Based in West Sussex, SCI Specialist Infrastructure provides telecommunications and electrical distribution services. The acquisition will see the business become part of E-Volve Construction Group’s wider civil engineering and utilities operations, strengthening the group’s presence across critical UK infrastructure sectors and adding SCI’s established telecommunications and electrical capabilities.
The HCR Law team was led by Laurence Evans, Partner and Head of Cambridge Corporate team, alongside Associate Monty Chamberlain, both based in the firm’s Cambridge office. They worked closely with business growth adviser Steve Bird of Elephant’s Child to advise SCI’s owners, Darren and Emma Jervis, throughout the transaction.
Darren Jervis, Director at SCI Specialist Infrastructure commented “Selling SCI Specialist Infrastructure was an emotional and challenging decision for me and my wife. We couldn’t have asked for a better team around us to provide the guidance and assurance that was required. Laurence Evans and Monty Chamberlain at HCR Law were knowledgeable, understanding, and always one step ahead. When issues arose during the negotiation stage of the deal, they were able to offer a pragmatic way forward which aligned with both our, and the Buyer’s requirements. Steve Bird at Elephants Child worked diligently with us from the start and helped structure the deal, explaining the risks in plain English. We’re grateful to all three of them for getting the deal over the line so smoothly.”
Laurence Evans added: “Darren and Emma established SCI in 2015 and have built a strong and well-regarded business over the past 11 years. This transaction represents an important next step for SCI as part of E-Volve Construction Group and we were delighted to support Darren and Emma throughout the sale and help them achieve a successful outcome.”
