High praise for HCR Hewitsons’ Cambridge team

HCR Hewitsons have been highly praised in the Legal 500 – a directory of lawyers across the country – with expertise and skills in our Cambridge office attracting high praise.

In the world of corporate and commercial, one client remarked: “I particularly appreciate the tight teamwork, ability to meet deadlines, and patient guidance at key points”. Another said the corporate team offer “great, practical advice on commercial transactions.” Laurence Evans has been called a next generation partner. James Lawrence is noted as being one of HCR’s leading individuals.

The Cambridge dispute resolution team dealing with commercial litigation have been called “fantastically bright and responsive”, providing a “high-quality service.” Another person remarked that the team “take the time to understand clients’ disputes and are high-quality litigators”. Simon Biggin is named by the directory as a leading individual, whilst Stewart Morrison is considered to be a rising star.

Our Cambridge private client team dealing with agriculture and estates and charities is regarded as “professional, technically reliable, accurate and responsive.” Charles Hewitson and Denise Wilkinson have made it into the Legal 500’s Hall of Fame, whilst James Frankland is named as a next generation partner. In the world of real estate, James Simpson has been named as leading individuals in the commercial property team, acting for developers, landowners, promoters, investors, landlords and tenants. Ceri Riddell is named as a next generation partner. In construction, Colin Jones is named as a leading individual in a team that “listens to what clients want and provides direct responses.”

Gemma Dudley of the planning and environment team has been named as a next generation partner. One client said the team have “strong knowledge of planning legislation, case law, its implications and practical application to development.”  The property litigation team provide “a very prompt and professional service” said one client. “Not only is the team highly competent, they always take the extra time to understand their client”.
